Aaron Maté is a Canadian journalist, born in Vancouver and based in New York, who hosts Pushback with Aaron Maté for The Grayzone and has been a fill-in host on the Useful Idiots podcast. He has written for The Nation. His books are Cold War, Hot War: How Russiagate Created Chaos from Washington to Ukraine (OR Books, 2022) and Their Blood, Our Bullets: The Hidden Story of the US-Russia War for Ukraine (OR Books, 2026). He appears regularly as a guest on Judging Freedom.
