Max Blumenthal

Max Blumenthal

Max Blumenthal is an American investigative journalist and author, founder and editor-in-chief of The Grayzone, an outlet he started in 2015 covering US foreign policy, war, and their domestic fallout. He previously wrote for outlets including AlterNet and The Daily Beast, and is the author of several books, including Goliath: Life and Loathing in Greater Israel. His reporting focuses heavily on Israel’s influence over US policy and the domestic machinery used to police anti-war dissent. He appears regularly as a guest on Judging Freedom.

Where they stand

A short read of where Max Blumenthal lands on each front we follow, drawn from their recent appearances and refreshed whenever they turn up in a debrief.

Iran
The CIA director’s Kremlin visit is not about warning Russia off NATO states but about prying Russia away from Iran and reviving an economic blockade that has hit a dead end ahead of the midterms.

Israel
Netanyahu threatened Britain with Iran-style treatment and "hybrid war" if it drifts from the special relationship, and has named the US as a front in his wars. "Israel is already waging hybrid warfare on the United States."

American power
The Trump DOJ’s terrorism designations of Palestine Action and allied groups are pretextual, Israel-directed tools to criminalize dissent and lay groundwork for banning encrypted communications. Even a Democratic midterm win changes nothing on US-Israel policy, because AIPAC-aligned Democrats already hold the key Foreign Affairs Committee posts, defying most Democratic voters.
