Matthew Hoh

Matthew Hoh is Associate Director of the Eisenhower Media Network. He served nearly twelve years with the US Marine Corps, the Defense Department and the State Department, deploying to Iraq twice: with a State Department reconstruction team in Salah ad Din in 2004 and 2005, and as a Marine company commander in Anbar in 2006 and 2007. In 2009 he resigned in protest as the senior US civilian in Zabul Province, Afghanistan, in what was widely reported as the first public resignation by a US official over the Afghan war, and he was later a senior fellow at the Center for International Policy.
